Thomas A. Polenzani, Owner, Polenzani Benefits & Insurance Services, Inc. was presented with the Golden Opportunity Award for making an outstanding contribution toward increasing vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. For over twelve years, Tom has demonstrated his commitment to creating equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities. He joined Foothill’s Board of Directors in 1995, served twice as Board President, served as Chair of Foothill’s highly successful capital campaign, and continues to support our agency in innumerable ways.
L.H. Dottie was presented with the Employer of the Year Award for making an outstanding commitment to providing employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Barry Leafman, General Manager, accepted the award on behalf of L.H. Dottie, which manufactures hardware and other products for the construction and electrical industries and has been a major provider of work opportunities for Foothill clients for over 25 years. We have had the pleasure of working closely with Barry for a number of years and appreciate his commitment and professionalism. In 2006, L.H. Dottie projects provided work opportunities to more than 125 disabled individuals. We salute L.H. Dottie’s corporate philosophy of “helping those with challenges to achieve their goals by creating opportunities….” Special thanks to Lane D. Satnick, President of L.H. Dottie for continuing to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Marcos Acosta, Antonio Alcaraz, and Jamie Jones were each presented with an Employee of the Year Award for outstanding work performance. Marcos, Antonio, and Jamie are participants in Foothill’s Supported Community Employment Program and have worked together in a Foothill supervised food service crew at Royal Oaks Manor since 2001. They exemplify the important contributions that disabled workers make to our communities. Ron Erickson, Director of Dietitian Services at Royal Oaks, speaking of these workers, says that their work performance is “just amazing!”
