Employment Specialist
Located in Pasadena, Foothill Vocational Opportunities, Inc. is a multi-service non-profit organization providing comprehensive work training, vocational counseling and placement services to individuals with disabilities. Over 200 individuals are being served each year.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and creative Employment Specialist who will be responsible for providing job placement services and external situation evaluation services to individuals with disabilities.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  
The Employment Specialist, under the general supervision of the Transitional Service Program Manager, will serve the primary function of:

1. Developing community relations with potential employers to create employment opportunities, volunteer experiences, and individual placements for our clients.
2. Assisting clients in successfully completing job applications and interviewing process.
3. Conducting job seeking skills training for clients either in a group situation or on one on one basis.
4. Conducting support and follow-up services to employers and clients.
5. Recording job development activities and related reports.
6. Performing other duties as assigned.  In a service agency such as Foothill, effective service to clients occasionally requires staff to perform duties outside their normally assigned duties.

 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of two years of work experience in placement services or supported employment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Mission and result driven.
• Good public relations skills.
• Strong sales and networking skills.
• Possesses a valid California Driver’s license and have reliable, properly insured transportation for use during work hours.
• Approved criminal background check.
