Vocational Services
Maximizing the personal and economic
potential of
disabled individuals
|
| Foothill Vocational Opportunities provides a range of vocational
services designed to provide disabled individuals and their
families opportunities for vocational and personal growth and
for choice. Services are focused on providing the greatest
opportunity for involvement in the community. Over 225
individuals are served each year. |
In its Work Training Services Foothill
provides work evaluation and work experience services
at its large industrial training center in Northwest
Pasadena. Participants perform a variety of
industrial tasks on real jobs, developing skills and
self-confidence, testing interests, and preparing for
possible employment in the community. Each participant
develops, with the involvement of Foothill staff, a
vocational plan designed around their individual needs,
abilities, interests and goals.

 |
In the Community Supported Employment Program , participants
receive vocational assessment and counseling, job placement
assistance, and ongoing services designed to help the individual
retain their job in the community. Placements include
both individual employment and employment as a part
of a small work crew. Individualized vocational goals are
developed by each participant, taking into account their particular
needs, interests, and vocational objectives.
